Apply for a Middleton Endowment Grant

The Middleton Endowment (ME) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the Middleton area for present and future generations. ME will accept grant requests from qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Key interest areas include: cultural enrichment, community development, education, natural and historic preservation and the needs of residents in the Middleton area.

ME will consider grant applications from the following areas: City of Middleton, Town of Middleton and communities served by the Middleton-Cross Plains School District. Nonprofit agencies on the far west side of Madison may also be eligible. ME does not fund endowments, loans or re-grant programs, multi-year commitments, religious activities, individuals or groups without a 501(c)(3) designation, other foundations, organizations that practice discrimination, political activities or travel expenses.

Grant requests are due twice per year on April 30 and October 31

ME Grant Guidelines

  • Grants generally range from $200 – $1,000.
  • Grant recipients may not apply for a second grant within 12 months of receipt of the required summary report.
  • ME does not practice legacy grants, which support the same program year after year
  • Grant recipients must submit a final report (one page) before consideration for future grants.

Application Process

  • Complete grant application plus up to one page of narrative
  • Include proof of 501(c)(3) status and a roster of organization’s board members.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The Middleton Endowment Committee awarded six $1,000 grants in 2024 to the following organizations:

  • Madison Reading Project
  • Middleton Chamber of Commerce
  • MCPASD Foundation
  • Way Forward (MOM)
  • Middleton Senior Center
  • Yada Fair Trade
