A global movement we can all get behind
December 2, 2025
GivingTuesday began in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.
Each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday inspires people to take action – to give, or volunteer or act with compassion. It’s a day when generosity becomes a shared celebration and a reminder that our collective kindness transforms lives and lifts our entire community.
Collaborative action has an impact
The call to action on this global day of giving inspires people to give generously:
- In 2024, GivingTuesday participants broke records donating $3.6 billion in the United States alone.
- Since its inception in 2012, GivingTuesday has raised $18.5 billion globally.
For many nonprofit organizations, the funds raised on GivingTuesday provide critical support to their work all year round.
